You're said to have developed intolerance to CML treatment if you have side effects that become so severe or unbearable that they are interfering with your daily activities. Together, you and your doctor can determine if adjustments in your treatment are necessary if you are experiencing intolerance to treatment.
You and your doctor have options
Don't be discouraged if your treatment is causing side effects that are hard for you to tolerate. Your doctor has several options to try to manage them: adding other medications to help manage the side effects, adjusting your treatment dose, occasionally even interrupting your current medication, or actually changing your treatment.
Always talk with your doctor before making any changes in your CML treatment or using other medicines. You will want to work closely with your doctor to find the best treatment plan for you.
Are you meeting your treatment goals?
There's only one way to tell. Test, test, and test again.
