Living and Coping With Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)
If you hear the words "you have cancer" from your doctor, you may naturally be
afraid of what will happen to you, and how your family members will cope with your chronic
myeloid leukemia (CML) diagnosis. Your
nurse or doctor can be a great resource of information, so stay in contact with them on a
regular basis.
Many organizations provide educational, emotional, and social
support, often at no cost, to help you:
- Learn about chronic myeloid leukemia
(CML)
- Learn how to cope with depression, stress, and other mental health issues that can occur in people
dealing with cancer
- Manage the challenges that may arise at home and work (ie, if you are unable to perform
everyday living activities, are absent from work, or do not have transportation to
pharmacies and appointments)
- Receive information on financial assistance and insurance
